Since 2021, Lotti Defant is running her fashion design practice in Berlin, Germany. Her work circles around unisex garments and accessories, with an emphasis on timeless silhouettes and an eclectic use of mainly dead stock materials. Every piece is made-to-order and tailored to custom measurements and preferences.

Lotti is operating out of the prototype workshop San Gimignano Lichtenberg, an industrial relic repurposed by the architects of Bplus.

By manufacturing in-house, high quality standards are maintained throughout the production process. Each order is produced as it is received. This allows for adjustments and avoids overproduction.

The ground floor workshop is shared by several designers. It serves as a hub for the exchange of ideas and collaboration.

Lotti’s first physical space was set up at the Atelier Carrière Didier Gazeau in Paris during Fashion Week in March 2024.  

It showcased the Base collection as part of a room installation.

A focus was placed on textiles in their purest form: Raw cotton was incorporated into the architectural office, like a piece of tailor-made clothing. It neutralized the existing workspace while simultaneously highlighting the room itself, creating a portable setup compact enough to fit into a car trunk.

A 6.5-meter-long, serrated garment rack guided visitors through the narrow space, allowing the garments on display to merge with it and drawing attention to the choice of materials.

The event was open to public, with designs available for order via manual order sheets.
